If there’s one thing I’ve learned since starting my own business in 1992, it’s that even though I am in business FOR  myself, I am not in business BY myself. I need coaches and mentors and service providers and accountability partners to help me on my journey.

Sometimes you need new ideas, or a new approach to an old idea.  Sometimes you need to talk to someone who may have been in business for a while, to hear how you might do something differently. Sometimes you have questions about “all things web”, and don’t even know where to begin researching a solution.  And sometimes you just need that gentle (or not so gentle!) kick in the rear to get you moving — and KEEP you moving.

Accountability Sessions

I’ve been getting a lot of requests from the folks I network with, both in person and online, about some sort of accountability or success group.

The intent of the group is to keep all the members — even me! — moving forward and getting done what we said we would get done.  We’re all busy, but are we busy doing the things that actually move our businesses forward?  It’s really easy to get mired in the day-to-day operations and lose sight of the strategic tasks that we need in order to grow.

I haven’t yet worked out the logistics — and I may start an in-person group here in Calgary before setting something up online.
