Content Planning

Content PlanYou have a website: congratulations!  It’s chock full of static content, the stuff that changes rarely if ever.

Chances are you have a blog as part of your website (or you should, if you don’t already).  And you should be distributing a newsletter, either a printed version by snail mail or an electronic version by email, or both.

Wow, that’s a lot of content.  Just thinking about it is daunting.  It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of what you have to write and publish!  So many business owners simply freeze, and don’t create anything.  Or they start off with a bang, but quickly lose interest.  Or they get busy, and then they feel so guilty for neglecting their list that they stop reaching out to all those folks whose names they’ve spent so much time – and money – to collect.

What if you could break this whole process down into smaller, more manageable bits?  What if I told you that you actually have to write a whole lot less than you think you do, because you can repurpose and reuse a lot of it in a lot of different ways?

Wouldn’t it feel great to have a process and a plan?  That’s what a content plan is all about.

In our session, we look at:

  • your content inventory: what you have now
  • your schedule: when you are (and are not) available to create content, when you need content for
  • your publishing options: the distribution channels what work best for your business — and with your schedule
  • your outsourcing options: what you can and can’t give away, and how you find the help you need

Then we create a detailed Action Plan that lists every chunk of content, what you need to create it, when it will be distributed or published, and when you need to start writing it to meet your schedule.

If lack of a plan is what’s keeping you from using things like audio or video or social media to grow your business, why not leap over that hurdle and race to success?

Your investment in a Content Planning Session is $250 (+GST) and at least an hour.  In advance of our session, you’ll receive some working documents, as before we chat you’ll be able to get a good start on your content inventory and your current schedule.
